Lucio Gonzales, of Bethel, was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday, Dec. 24, by Wilton Police near his home, said the Wilton Police Department.

The investigation stems back to Feb. 10, when Gonzales was working to help a resident prepare a home for sale by providing handyman services, the department said.

After Gonzales finished work, the jewelry was discovered missing.

An extensive investigation by Wilton detectives led to Gonzales and search warrants were obtained for his DNA which ended up matching evidence left at the crime scene, police said.

Gonzales was charged with larceny and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
